Magpie News
Magpie is reopening its Littlehampton Offices
Magpie will be opening its Littlehampton offices for face-to-face sessions from Monday 6th July. In order to help you decide if you would like to start face-to-face sessions again, or would prefer to continue online/telephone, please read through the following information and feel free to ask me any questions you might have.
Arrivals
To reduce the time spent in communal areas, please arrive no earlier than 2 minutes before your appointment and come straight up to Room 6.
Hygiene
The room has been deep cleaned before the office reopening, and is cleaned every day. The sofa is sprayed with anti-bacterial/virus disinfectant between each client and the door handles are disinfected between each client using the products displayed on the table, which you are welcome to inspect. We provide 75% alcohol hand sanitiser and would ask you use this when entering the room before sitting down. You are welcome to use before you leave as well.
The window in the office can be left open to allow fresh air to circulate if you wish. The chairs are placed ‘one metre plus’ away from each other to allow for social distancing. If you wish to use a mask you are welcome to, but please be aware I will not be using one.
For the time being, we will not be providing water, so please bring your own refreshments if you think you will need them.
We will be providing tissues, but ask you to take used tissues and dispose of them yourself, in order to reduce risk to others using the room.
Health and wellness
The current symptoms of coronavirus can be found on the NHS website here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ . We would ask that if you show any signs of ill-health, even if you are unsure of the cause, you do not come to the office and we conduct your session online or by telephone instead. We reserve the right to refuse to see anyone displaying coronavirus symptoms, and to offer an online or telephone alternative instead. This is to ensure your safety and those of other people using the office, and of course will be applying the same criteria to ourselves as well. If we suspect or confirm we have come into contact with anyone with coronavirus symptoms, we will immediately isolate for the recommended time, inform you and offer your sessions online or via telephone, and would expect you to do the same.
Communal areas/toilets
Unfortunately we have no control over communal areas in the building such as the toilets, so these are currently closed to Magpie clients. Whilst we don’t recommend you use these facilities, if you do decide to use them, please be advised this is at your own risk, and we would recommend using your own sanitising products.
Summary
I would like to stress that you are under no obligation to take up your sessions face-to-face at this time. If you would prefer to continue with telephone or online counselling, this is entirely acceptable for as long as you feel you need this service. Whilst we believe, in line with government guidance, that we can operate safely face to face, this is also a personal decision based on your own circumstances and health issues. The decision to attend face-to-face is yours, and if you require any further information to help you make this decision, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Please let me know by 5pm on the 5th July whether you would like to resume face to face, or would prefer to continue online/via telephone.
